Police: Woman wanted for cashing fake checks from Lynchburg business
LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) -- Lynchburg Police are searching for a woman they said cashed just under $1,000 in fake checks.
Hellen Michelle Anthony, 40, is wanted on four felony warrants of forgery and uttering and two felony warrants of obtaining money by false pretenses.
Anthony was an employee at Paula's Answering Service on 5th Street.
Paula Harrison-Lewis said Anthony worked there for a year and was a good employee.
Harrison-Lewis said she was notified that two checks from a closed account were cashed at Justis Market on 12th Street, and Anthony never showed back up to work.
"Super loved her, she was a nice person here, but she was a pretty good con artist, I think she's making a stream around town," said Harrison-Lewis.
If anyone knows where Anthony is or has details on this incident, contact the Lynchburg Police Dept. or Crimestoppers at 888-798-5900.
