Police: 'Armed and dangerous' man, wanted in Halifax Co. stabbing, last seen in Gretna
UPDATE: 6:30 p.m.
The Halifax County Sheriff's Office said Antone Lemont Hamlett should be considered armed and dangerous.
He is charged with malicious wounding after they said he stabbed a woman and then brought her to Gretna before abandoning her and his SUV.
Neighbors said the woman was bleeding heavily from the waist down and jumped a fence by Highway 29 ans was walking along the road when deputies located her.
They said Hamlett was last seen in the Gretna area around noon.
UPDATE: 5:15 p.m.
The Halifax County Sheriff's Office says they have a warrant out for Hamlett's arrest after he stabbed a woman in Halifax County and then took off with her inside his vehicle.
They said he abandoned his vehicle in Gretna and the woman was found on the side of the road.

PITTSYLVANIA Co., Va. (WSET) -- The Pittsylvania County Sheriff's Office said deputies are looking for a man they said is a person of interest in a malicious wounding that happened in Halifax County Tuesday around 12 p.m.
The sheriff's office said Antone Lemont Hamlett, 34, is described as approximately 185 pounds and 5-foot-11.
Hamlett's vehicle was found abandoned off U.S. Highway 29 Tuesday afternoon just south of the Gretna exit.
Authorities believe Hamlett is on foot.
Police canine teams have been called to help in the search of where Hamlett was last seen.
