Police: Missing inmate could be with his girlfriend, $1,000 reward for information offered

MARTINSVILLE, Va. (WSET) -- The Martinsville Sheriff's Office, the Martinsville Police Department, and the Henry County Sheriff's Office, along with State Police and the States Marshals Fugitive Task Force are still looking for a fugitive, who escaped last month.

Dekey Trevor Penn, 33, a trustee inmate, jumped from a garbage truck in the Fayette Street area and never got back on in the morning hours of September 13.

The Martinsville Police Department said law enforcement has been working together since that time to track down all leads.

Penn is described as 5-foot-6 and 165 pounds.

Police said he changes hair styles frequently and was last seen with his hair partially dyed blonde.

Officers said they believe Penn is believed to still in the region and may be in the company of his girlfriend, Latonya (aka Latoya) Turner.

Police said Turner, formally of Paul Street in Martinsville, is 32-years-old, approximately 5-foot-3 and weighs 190 pounds.
