Police: Martinsville woman charged with stabbing man to death after domestic dispute
MARTINSVILLE, Va. (WSET) - Martinsville police are investigating a homicide.
Officers were called around 4 a.m. Sunday and notified of a stabbing victim at the SOVAH Hospital Emergency Department.
Police say the victim had been taken to the hospital by a private vehicle. They say the victim, Michael Lightfoot, 29, was pronounced dead shortly after he got to the hospital.
Police arrested Katelia Beal, 31, in connection to his death.
Officials say the investigation shows Lightfoot and Beal lived together in an apartment in the 900 block of Blankenship Road in Martinsville where the incident happened. They say a domestic argument is what led to Lightfoot being stabbed in the chest.
Beal is charged with second degree murder. She's being held at the Martinsville City Jail without bond. The case is still under investigation.
