Man charged with abduction & kidnapping after standoff in Campbell Co.
CAMPBELL Co., Va. (WSET) - A man is being held without bond after a police standoff in Campbell County lasted into the early morning hours.
According to the Campbell County Sheriff's Office, officers got a call for a domestic disturbance in the 2200 block of Lone Jack Road just after 8 p.m. on Sunday night.
Officials with the sheriff's office obtained a warrant for a man living in the home, now identified as Alan K. Thompson.
According to officials, officers on the scene made contact with Thompson, but he refused to come outside.
Officials say during the standoff, Thompson got a gun, and at one point, stuck it under his chin.
Police say Thompson fired his gun twice while officers were inside the home.
Police say they were able to get the situation under control just after 3 a.m. Monday.
Thompson was taken to the Blue Ridge Regional Jail in Campbell County, where he is being held without bond.
According to the jail's website, Thompson is charged with abduction and kidnapping, and a third or subsequent offense of brandishing a firearm.
