Police: Lynchburg man defends himself when attacked by three men
LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) - Lynchburg Police say a man had to defend himself when he was attacked by three men.
Officials say Anthony D. Eagle, 30, of Lynchburg was walking in the 3200 block of Forest Brook Road at the Walmart when he was surrounded and assaulted by three men.
Police responded to the scene just before 1:45 a.m. Wednesday.
Eagle told police he pulled out his knife and began defending himself until he was able to get away.
Officers were told two of the three men who allegedly assaulted Eagle were at Lynchburg General Hospital with stab wounds.
Police say they were able to apprehend the third suspect in the 3200 block of Forest Brook Road.
They say two men of the three have been arrested and charged; the third is being treated for life-threatening injuries.
Police say Thomas E. Tanner, 25, of Lynchburg is charged with malicious wounding, and malicious wounding by mob. They say he was treated at the hospital for a stab wound to the shoulder.
Dominique L. Saunders, 28, of Lynchburg is charged with malicious wounding and malicious wounding by mob. Police say he was not injured.
According to police, the third suspect, Johnathan D. Reynolds, 26, is being treated for life-threatening injuries, and charges are currently pending.
They say Eagle will not be charged in this incident.
