Police: At least 5 suspects broke into more than 30 vehicles early Monday morning

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) -- The Lynchburg Police Department is investigating reports of more than 30 break-ins that happened all in the early morning hours on Monday.

Police said it was reported that money and other items were taken from vehicles in the area of Hood St., Fleetwood Dr., and several streets in the New Towne Subdivision.

In one of the cases, police said officers were able to get surveillance footage of five suspects around 3:30 a.m.

In the video, you can see one suspect breaking into a truck and removing something as others appear to be standing around watching.

Eventually all five suspects walk away together, police said.
