Police confirm worker died at Lynchburg Powder Coating plant Wednesday

Police have released the name of the victim they said died in a workplace accident at Lynchburg Powder Coating.
They said Louis Pettigrew, Jr., 68, was killed at the plant on Wednesday morning.
Investigators said Pettigrew was a self-employed electrical contractor who came to work at the plant on Wednesday.
They said that he was working on a light while elevated 18 feet up on a piece of equipment when an electrical event took place that sent him falling to the ground.
Police said he was pronounced dead at the scene.
"Right now, we're investigating the scene, trying to find out what may have caused this industrial accident. Of course, we've notified OSHA, and they're here investigating as well," said Campbell County chief deputy, L.T. Guthrie.
At this time, there is no word on any current or prior violations at the business.
Guthrie said Pettigrew was a Campbell County resident and also a member of the Concord Volunteer Rescue Squad.
CAMPBELL Co., Va. (WSET) - Officials say at least one person has severe injuries after an accident at Lynchburg Powder Coating on Crowell Lane.
The Campbell County Sheriff's Office and EMS crews are at the scene investigating. Officials say the accident was electrical and involved a fall.
OSHA will be investigating the incident.
