More than 30 paintings go to new clinic after 24-hour paint challenge
LYNCBURG, Va. (WSET) -- A new Johnson Health Center clinic is about to a new look, thanks to more than 30 Lynchburg artists who took part in health center's 24-hour paint challenge.
The paintings will help decorate their new dental, OB/GYN and pediatric clinic at 2402 Atherholt Road in Lynchburg.
The challenge kicked off Saturday and artists had less than 24-hours to paint a masterpiece before having to turn it in Sunday morning.
Charlene Southworth and her daughter Rose decided to join in on the fun since they love to paint.
Rose is living with autism and her painting shows a person who is hurting, according to Southworth.
"The person is coming to the center not feeling well," Southworth said. "[It's] telling them basically that the center is going to make them feel better, this is going to comfort them and this is why there are hands around her little person."
Rose's painting will be placed in the clinic's waiting room.
The other 30+ painting will be placed throughout the new clinic.
The Johnson Health Center will hold a grand opening on September 22nd from 3:30-5PM.
