Lynchburg WWII veteran celebrates 100th birthday
LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) -- It was a big celebration for one Lynchburg woman on Thursday, as she celebrated her 100th birthday.
And she has quite the story.
Louise Walkup worked in the signal corps during World War II, where she received a FBI clearance.
She then came back home to manage JP Bell and finished her career working at Lynchburg General Hospital.
Delegate Scott Garrett was even on hand to present her with a commendation from the House Of Delegates.
Louise still lives relatively independently, but if anyone wants to dance, she's ready.
Centra Pace helped organize the birthday party for Louise.
