Lynchburg man in serious condition after 3-vehicle crash involving moped
LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) -- A Lynchburg man is in serious condition after a three-vehicle crash involving a moped, Lynchburg Police say.
The Lynchburg Police Department, along with Lynchburg Fire & EMS, responded to the crash involving a Honda Civic, a Dodge Durango and a Piaggio moped.
Police say the crash happened in the 1900 block of Grace St. around 3:20 p.m. Thursday.
Police say the vehicles involved are as follows:
- 2008 Honda Civic driven by Joshua Horsley, 23, of Lynchburg;
- 2010 Piaggio moped driven by Michael Bailey, 57, of Lynchburg;
- 2007 Dodge Durango driven by Schrae Penn, 27, of Lynchburg.
The driver of the moped, Michael Bailey, was transported to Lynchburg General Hospital Emergency Department to be treated for injuries sustained in the crash. He is currently in serious condition, according to police.
This crash is currently under investigation by the Lynchburg Police Department’s Traffic & Safety Unit.
Police say charges are currently pending further investigation of the incident.
