Lynchburg declares state of emergency until further notice
LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) -- The City of Lynchburg issued a local state of emergency that went into effect on Sunday, April 15 at 9:23 p.m. until further notice.
While the State of Emergency is in effect, drivers are asked to stay off the roads due to hazardous conditions and allow police, fire, and public works to respond to problems throughout the city.
There are several downed trees throughout Lynchburg that won't be able to be moved until AEP is able to deactivate any live electrical wires and to assume all downed power lines are energized.
Do not drive around barricades.
And do not call 911 unless you have an emergency.
