Local businesses preparing for President Trump's visit this weekend

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) -- The manager at Vinny's on Wards Rd. is expecting a huge spike in sales this weekend.

That's because it's both Liberty University's commencement ceremony and Mother's Day.

At Vinny's Italian Grill it's a week of preparation. "Bringing in some extra food, some extra staff, and probably get some rest before the big weekend," said Jimmy Vitale, the manager at Vinny's,

It's all hands on deck for their employees to make sure everything goes smooth.

Vitale thinks the President coming to town will make this commencement weekend even busier than usual. "Brings more attention to this area," said Vitale. "I know he's good friends with the Falwell's so I'm sure they'll like to see each other now that he's president."

He says they're always filled with families celebrating graduation and he's glad they'll also see people coming to town just to hear President Trump. "A lot of families gather and come out to eat, so we'll expect a busy weekend," said Vitale.
