AMHERST Co., Va. (WSET) -- The Amherst County Sheriff's Office said it's broken up a methamphetamine ring responsible for trafficking multiple kilos into the greater Lynchburg area.

Nine of the ring's members have been arrested so far out of the 12 that were indicted by an Amherst County grand jury.

The sheriff's office said the investigation has been responsible for the seizure of over six pounds of methamphetamine that was intercepted prior to arriving in Lynchburg.

They said the investigation originated from a search warrant that was executed at a Madison Heights home in February.

The follow up work done by investigators uncovered the significant distribution network that repackaged and dispersed methamphetamine from larger wholesalers, investigators said.

The nine arrested include:

  • Bobby Lloyd Archer, 42, Madison Heights -- charged with Conspiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine
  • Salvatore Catanzaro, 48, Lynchburg -- charged with Distribution of Controlled Substance (Schedule I or II) x 2 counts and Conspiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine
  • Christopher Matthew Deane, 26, Monroe -- charged with Conspiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine and Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana
  • Christy Lea Dearing, 40, Madison Heights -- charged with Conspiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine
  • Crystal Lynn Hardy, 31, Amherst -- charged with Conspiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine
  • Brandon O’Neal Hendricks, 26, Lynchburg -- charged with Conspiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine
  • Richard Justin Mays, 34, Lynchburg -- charged with Conspiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine
  • Jonathan Wayne Perry, Lynchburg -- charged with Conspiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine
  • Donald Ray Pippin, 60, Madison Heights - charged with Conspiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine

In addition to these arrests, the sheriff's office said deputies made one more during the roundup.

Robert Steven Agnor, 41, of Monroe was charged with Distribution of Controlled Substance (Schedule I or II).

Amherst County Sheriff Viar said he would like to continue to remind the community that this fight against drug activity in Amherst County and the region cannot be done without their partnership and asks anyone to please report suspected drug activity to law enforcement.
