Heritage High, Elementary placed on brief lockdown after reports of shots fired in area

Lynchburg City Schools said the lockdown at both Heritage High and Elementary Schools has been lifted.
LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) -- Heritage High School and Heritage Elementary School have been placed on lockdown Wednesday, March 7.
Lynchburg City School said that the Lynchburg Police Department got a call about reports of shots fired in the area.
As a precaution, both schools were placed on lockdown so officers could investigate.
School officials are asking everyone to stay away from campus until further notice and they will notify the public when the lockdown has been lifted.
