Eldor begins hiring people for its Botetourt Co. plant
BOTETOURT CO., Va. (WSET) -- Eldor should be up and running by January 2018.
Framing is already up for the Italian auto parts manufacturer's Botetourt County plant.
This will be the company's first production plant in the country.
Today, executives from Eldor were in town to work on hiring both engineers and human resources staff.
They say right now, they are expanding their job search past the Roanoke Valley, but in coming years they hope to fill quite a few positions with people currently attending Virginia Western Community College.
"They fully understand what we need. And they even proposed some kind of customized training programs for their students that could better match to our requirements. And that's something we are still discussing with them. And of course, they are already proposing some of their students," said Eldor Board Member Luca Forte.
Eldor has promised to have a staff of 350 people when the plant is up and running.
