Danville responds to 9 accidents, 5 calls overnight regarding snow and icy weather
DANVILLE, Va. (WSET) -- The City of Danville responded to reports of nine vehicle accidents due to Monday's weather conditions.
They said most of the accidents were on the U.S 29 bypass near Goodyear Boulevard.
The City's Public Works crews worked overnight to apply sand on bridges and overpasses and streets where icy spots were reported. The department said they received about five calls regarding icy spots.
According to Danville Utilities, there were no reports of power outages.
With current temperatures rising above freezing, the City expects snow to melt and streets to dry out. There will be colder temperatures Tuesday night, so the City of Danville is urging drivers to use caution while driving.
