Centra, Childrens Miracle Network raise money for new emergency vehicle
FOREST, Va., (WSET)--- "We love putting the fun in fundraiser," said Jack Whisler. Whisler works with Centra health for the Children's Miracle Network.
Today Elite Athletics of Forest, Centra and the Children's miracle network put on "Flip 4 Kids" to help raise money for a new neo-natal transport unit.
The event was similar to a carnival complete with games, a bouncy house and farm animals.
Centra has been raising money for the truck for 2 years.
Whisler says the last time Centra got a neonatal unit was around 2010 and they are due for a new one now.
"They get a lot of wear and tear and so we need to raise money for a new one. We have been campaigning for awhile and we are almost there," Said Whisler.
The truck costs about $515,000. Whisler says that he believes they will be make their goal after today's fundraiser.
