Canada-based company investing $3 million, creating 50 jobs in Henry County
HENRY Co., Va. (WSET) -- Governor Terry McAuliffe has announced that Novatech Group will open their first U.S. manufacturing facility in Henry County.
The facility will make use of an existing building and Novatech is investing $3 million in upgrades and equipment for the facility which will produce patio doors and create 50 new jobs.
Novatech is a Canada based company that employs over 600 people and manufactures door glass, steel doors, patio doors, retractable screens, and insulated glass with or without blinds. But, the Henry County facility will only produce and distribute patio doors.
McAuliffe said the Tobacco Region Revitalization Commission helped bring Novatech to Henry County with a $130,000 Tobacco Region Opportunity Fund (TROF) grant.
“Novatech’s new plant in Virginia is a first step in our expansion into the United States. In doing so, we are realizing a dream,” said Harold Savard, CEO and President of Novatech Group. “This investment will allow us to better serve our existing U.S. customers and grow our capacities closer to key markets."
In addition to the TROF grant the Commission has awarded grant funds to Mid-Atlantic Broadband Communities Corporation to assist in the creation of a high-speed fiber network in the region. Access to high-speed internet access is often a requirement of businesses looking to expand or relocate such as Novatech.
