Logging truck overturns, blocking Lexington Turnpike in Amherst Co.
UPDATE: 11:15 a.m.
Public Safety Coordinator Gary Roakes said the all clear has been given and the Lexington Turnpike is back open.
AMHERST Co., Va. (WSET) -- A fully overturned logging truck is causing traffic problems in Amherst County.
Emergency dispatch said the trailer carrying the logs came loose spilling them all over Lexington Turnpike around 5:45 a.m. Thursday, March 15.
The logs are blocking all of Route 60 West, the Lexington Turnpike, close to Coffeytown Road.
Traffic is being rerouted through the Buffalo Springs Turnpike.
Amherst County Public Safety Coordinator Gary Roakes said the truck driver wasn't hurt.
No word yet on when this route will reopen.
