Areal Flood Watch through Monday Morning, more rain expected
LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) -- A stalled out stationary boundary is allowing numerous ripples of energy to roll through the area. All of them are bringing much needed rain. Although, perhaps, somewhat too quickly.
Overnight, you can look for more rain to enter the area as more ripples of energy ride along the stalled boundary. Some of this rain will be heavy at times.
Lows tonight will touch near 50, but expect temperatures to climb overnight as southwest winds usher in the warmer air.
Sunday brings more rain, some of that could be heavy at times, too.
Temperatures spike to the middle to upper 60s. Some places will make a run at 70 especially south and east. Because of that, don’t be surprised if you hear a rumble or two of thunder as we progress forward through the day.
Rainfall totals before all is said and done will be in the ballpark of 1-2” Some spots may see isolated higher amounts. Because of this a FLOOD WATCH is active for areas west of Highway 29 through Monday morning at 7.
We’ll start to ease the rain on Monday and Tuesday. Although still cloudy. We’ll dry it out for Valentines Day before more rain arrives to close the week. This isn’t bad news…we need the rain!
