Any snow coming? And it's going to get more frigid this week
The Heart of Virginia begins 2018 with near record setting cold temperatures in the Lynchburg, Danville and Roanoke area.
Record lows are possible Tuesday morning with lows ranging from 2° to 9° across most local locations. The record low of 6° in Lynchburg set in 1918 will be threatened.
Another cold front will reinforce the frigid conditions by Thursday. High temperatures will struggle to reach the mid 20s for Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Lows between 0° and 5° will be common.
Despite the cold weather, there are no obvious indications of snow for our area.
A strong coastal storm will push northeast up the Atlantic Coast this week, but all the precipitation should remain along the coast and offshore.
