E.C. Glass High School graduate nominated for a Grammy

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) -- Bryan Wright, a Lynchburg native, is nominated for his first Grammy.

The E.C. Glass High School graduate is nominated for "Best Album Notes" in his piece, "The Complete Piano Works of Scott Joplin."

Wright is a pianist, teacher, and musicologist went on to attend the University of Pittsburgh, where he now teaches part time.

He said he was in shock when he got the exciting news.

I was speechless. Really, I tried to wake up my wife and all I could say is that I got nominated," he said.

The 2018 Grammy's will be held in New York on January 28. Wright said he is excited to attend.
