59-year-old man killed in Rustburg house fire; woman, firefighter taken to hospital
RUSTBURG, Va. (WSET) - The Campbell County Sheriff's Office says a 59-year-old man was killed in a house fire Tuesday evening
A woman who lived in the home and a firefighter were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries as well.
The fire happened on Pleasant Hill Road around 7 p.m., officials said the call came in at 6:56 p.m.
Campbell County Public Safety said it was a single-family home on Pleasant Hill Rd.; they said the man who died was in the basement of the house and was unable to get out of the house.
Callers said there were flames coming from the back of the house.
Campbell County Public Safety, the Rustburg Volunteer Fire Department, and the Lyn-Dan Heights Volunteer Fire Department responded to the fire.
The Campbell County Fire Marshal and the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the fire.
The Campbell County was unable to release the identity of the man who died.
