Pet Owners Have Healthier Hearts
Researchers with the American Heart Association looked at several studies about the health of pet owners and found they generally had lower cholesterol, blood pressure and obesity rates.
One reason for that is exercise.
One study found dog owners were 54 % more likely than non-dog owners to meet weekly recommended levels of exercise.
The CDC suggests 150 minutes of brisk walking or 75 minutes of running each week for most Americans.
