Health Check: Laughter Lowers Blood Pressure

Laughter may really be the best medicine.

A university in California did a study on 20 healthy older adults and found those who watched a 20 minute funny video did better on short-term memory tests than those who didn't watch anything. They also found those who laughed for 20 minutes had a lower blood pressure and decreased level of cortisol, which is connected to stress.

Experts say laughing releases more endorphins that send dopamine to the brain, which improves the body's immune system.
