      Health Check: Hospital Safety Improving

Hospitals are becoming safer for patients, according to the federal government.

A new report out from the Department of Health and Human Services finds that medication mistakes, falls and infections went down 9% between 2010 and 2012. That prevented nearly 15,000 deaths and saved an estimated $4 billion. The government says a quality improvement partnership between federal agencies and the health industry is contributing to those lower numbers.
