McAuliffe signs bill that allows health departments to provide clean needles to addicts
RICHMOND, Va. (WSET) -- Governor Terry McAuliffe has signed multiple bills that will work to help combat the growing drug problem in Virginia.
The most controversial one will allow local health departments to provide clean needles to drug addicts.
The trade-off is the individual must take information regarding treatment programs.
The bill states that the goal is to reduce HIV from spreading through dirty needles.
