Mom thankful for local EMTs after overnight baby delivery
CAMPBELL Co., Va. (WSET) -- A local mom says she has a lot to be thankful for after an overnight baby delivery.
Emma Hamby says due to an incredibly fast labor, she and her husband ended up delivering her baby boy under the stars on the grassy side of Route 460 just before 2 a.m. Sunday morning.
Hamby says they were heading to Lynchburg from Appomattox but baby Brantley couldn't wait any longer.
She says EMTs arrived on the scene soon after the delivery and transported the new family to Virginia Baptist Hospital. "The EMTs arrived soon after and were absolutely amazing in taking care of us on the way to Virginia Baptist Hospital," Hamby said.
She says sweet little Brantley weighs 7 pounds 10 ounces and is 20 inches long.
