Danville Regional Medical Center is hiring a Special Procedures Tech - CT

Education: Graduate of a Radiologic Technology program.

Experience: Previous clinical experience desired in Radiography and Special Procedures, Mammography, CT, or MRI.

License/Certification: Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Advanced Certification Preferred. Current American Heart Association BCLS certifications required.

Technical Skills: Proficient in diagnostic examinations, fluoroscopy, and invasive procedures; knowledge of diagnostic radiologic equipment operations; PAC and RIS proficiency desired.

Job Summary: Perform a variety of technical diagnostic examinations associated with the operation of x-ray equipment to produce diagnostic radiographs of designated portions of the body, Special Procedures, Mammography, CT, or MRI. Observes all regulations concerning radiation protection of patients and staff. Provides age specific care for neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric individuals, i.e., tasks necessary for physical care and comfort, supportive tasks and teaching according to standards of care and cultural diversity. Assures confidentiality of patient information departmental, and hospital affairs. Participates in Quality Improvement and practices infection control polices.

Tasks Performed:

  • Observes Radiology Safety Guidelines.
  • Obtains radiographs with stationary radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment.
  • Obtains radiographs with the portable units as deemed necessary on the floors and operating room as well as within the radiology department.
  • In addition to being proficient in radiography, the employee must be proficient in Special Procedures, Mammography, CT, or MRI.
  • Provides care for patients by maintaining a positive and professional atmosphere as well as addressing their physical needs.
  • Assures confidentiality of patient information, departmental and hospital affairs.
  • Administers age specific (neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric) patient care promptly according to the patient’s plan of care.
  • Assures appropriate orders are obtained and followed during the performance of all procedures.
  • Verifies patient identification before performing any procedure.
  • Adheres to all Departmental and Hospital policies and procedures.
  • Fulfills other assigned duties as requested which may not be specified in the job description.
