The Buzz Sept. 7-9: Two 5K Races, Culture Crawl & Bluegrass Concert
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and this Saturday, there's a 5K in Lynchburg to help those kids battling the disease. The parents of Nathan Norman, the little boy battling cancer in Rustburg, started the nonprofit Hope for Tomorrow. They're the ones putting on the event at Peaks View Park at 9 a.m.
There'll be another race in Bedford County Saturday. The 9/11 Heroes Run will take place across the country to honor veterans and first responders. The 5K will start at the Aid Station in Forest. That's at 10 a.m.
Saturday night--Martinsville will be alive with arts and cultural events. It's the first ever Culture Crawl in uptown Martinsville. Come out to check out museums, art studios, shops and restaurants. That's 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Sunday, the James River Bluegrass Association is putting on a great bluegrass concert at the Madison Heights Community Center. Kody Norris will be on stage with the Wautauga Mountain Boys! That's 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., and tickets are $15.
