The Buzz June 21-23: Concerts at Friday Cheers, Phase 2 & The Ellington

Hope you're in the mood for dancing because a great band will be on stage for this week's Friday Cheers! Out of Spite will perform starting at 6 p.m. at Riverfront Park in downtown Lynchburg. It should be a great evening for live music, drinks and good company. Tickets are $5.

On Saturday, Jimmy Thackery and the Drivers will be at the Ellington in Lynchburg. The famous blues singer and guitarist will be on stage at 8:30 p.m. with his band. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door.

Also in Lynchburg, a heavy metal band from Dallas, Texas will be in concert Saturday night. Phase 2 presents Drowning Pool. Three other bands will also be performingthat starts at 7:30 p.m. Drowning Pool will play songs from their new album Resilience at 10:30. Tickets are 15 bucks.

And the 5th Annual Virginia Summer Solstice Wine Festival is this weekend. The event kicks off Saturday at the Lazy Days Winery in Amherst. Come out for wine tasting, live music and local food. There will also be a petting zoo and antique car display. You can get 2-day tickets in advance for $20.
