Buzz: Mar. 7-9, Empty Bowls, Eyes of Freedom, Celtic Woman
Lynchburg, VA - This week The Academy of Fine Arts in Lynchburg will host its 6th annual Empty Bowls Event. You can pick a locally made ceramic bowl for $20. Then you will be served a meal of bread and soup as a reminder of the bowls the Lynchburg Daily Bread fills day in and day out. The organization gets all the proceeds. The event is from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The Eyes of Freedom Exhibit Opens on Saturday on Commerce Street in Lynchburg. The memorial consists of 23 life-sized portraits of the young Marines of Lima Company, Ohio, who lost their lives in Iraq. It is to honor their valiant service as well as a tribute to all U.S. service people and veterans. The exhibit will be open from five until eight p.m. It runs until March 13. On Sunday, Celtic Woman, The Emerald Tour will be at the Roanoke Civic Center.The production will celebrate Ireland and the Emerald Isles through traditional Irish music. It starts at three and you can head to the pre-show brunch at one. For tickets head here.
