Many aviation pioneers had their roots in Lynchburg, andFriday, August 2, you have the chance to meet some of them. The LynchburgMuseum will be hosting three men who helped make flight history. Because it's partof "First Fridays" admission to the museum is free from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Therewill be historic photographs, log books and other aviation memorabilia.
On Saturday, it should be a perfect day for a run and aswim! Come out to the 2nd annual Anthem James River Splash and Dashon Percival's Island in Lynchburg. You'll have to run a 2 mile trail course,grab a tube and then paddle down the James River. There will be an afterpartyat the Depot Grille with music and food.
Also Saturday, the William Campbell Combined School willhost the 5th annual Heritage Festival. The event has historicaldemonstrations, crafters, food vendors and live music. The goal is to show howpast generations lived and worked.
For some live music, Phase 2 presents the Old SouthernMoonshine Revival Saturday night. The band's second album debuted its first fewweeks inside ITunes Top 100 Country Albums. Tickets are $10.
