Mommy Monday: Holiday de-stressing
LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) -- Stress can often ruin the holiday spirit.
So how you you cope?
Pastor Jim Hunter of Peakland Baptist Church in Lynchburg said it's important to keep things in perspective and to remember the holiday is about joy.
An he said he knows how stressful things can be; he has two children and said their family often struggles with schedules around the holidays.
"The most important things of Christmas are not the gifts under the tree, but the family around the tree," Dr. Hunter said. "And sometimes we have to take things off the to do list and replace it with something else. Take a moment and truly enjoy the season."
Hunter said to try family activities, like volunteering to help bring your family together.
And he says you could also try starting new traditions to get your family excited about the holidays.
