Honoring Guion Bluford

His passion for Aviation led Guion Bluford to the Air Force, where he distinguished himself as a skilled pilot in Vietnam. He was named to NASA's astronaut program in 1978. Five years later, on August 30, 1983, Bluford became the first African American in space, serving as Mission Specialist on the space shuttle "Challenger".
