Honoring Black History Month

Black History Month.JPG

In 1926, Carter G. Woodson created and promoted Negro History Week. A period chosen in February, because it included the birthdays of Frederick Douglass and Abraham Lincoln. In 1976, a month long celebration was implemented as a time for all Americans to reflect on the contributions African Americans have made through out our history.
