More than 1,000 LU members help Serve Lynchburg bring positive change to community
LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) -- More than 1,000 volunteers from Liberty University helped serve the Lynchburg community this weekend to make a positive impact.
On Friday, nearly 500 volunteers served 35 community partners and more than 25 professors lead teams to help with different community projects.
Three tornado storm relief sites including HumanKind, Salvation Army, and Camp Kum-Ba-Yah were served by nearly 100 volunteers.
On Saturday, nearly 1,500 volunteers served with more than 50 organizations to help.
Five different storm relief sites were served by more than 40 volunteers.
Combining the two days, there was over 8,200 volunteer hours given to help tornado victims.
