Lynchburg, VA - A woman is in the hospital after the car she was in overturned in an accident Sunday afternoon in Lynchburg.
Lieutenant C.L. Deaner with the Lynchburg Police Department says they got the call around 12:30 p.m. about a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Campbell Avenue and Mosby Avenue.
He says a Jimmy GMC SUV was overturned, and the passenger was trapped inside the car. EMS crews were able to remove the passenger from the car after about 30 minutes. She was taken to the hospital with injuries.
Police say two people were inside each of the vehicles involved. They say the driver of the SUV ran a red light at the intersection, and the other car, a Jeep Wrangler, T-boned the SUV.
The two passengers inside the Jeep Wrangler were not injured.
The driver of the SUV, April Frazier, 26, has been charged with failure to stop for a red light. She did not seem to have any injuries.
The Lynchburg Fire Department, EMS and the Lynchburg Police Department responded to the accident.
Police closed Campbell Avenue from Otey to Sacket Streets for about 1.5 hours.
