Woman Faces 6 Months Behind Bars After Animal Cruelty Charges

Danville, VA -- A Danville woman will spend six months behind bars after being found guilty of several charges, including animal cruelty.

Paula Easley was found guilty late last year of unlawful tethering of an animal, inadequate care of an animal, inadequate space for an animal and animal cruelty. Animal Control officers described this as one of the worst cases of animal neglect they've ever seen. The dog was taken away from Easley last August. She was sentenced in Circuit Court Tuesday.
