Woman Charged After Passing Bus & Hitting a Pedestrian in Lynchburg
Lynchburg, VA - A driver is facing charges after Lynchburg Police say she passed a stopped school bus and hit a pedestrian.
Officers responded to the scene Thursday at 8:15 a.m. at the intersection of Poplar and Buena Vista streets.
According to police, the bus was stopped on Buena Vista with its emergency lights on, and the bus driver waved a 25-year-old woman to cross in front of the bus on Poplar. That's when police say a car crossed over Poplar Street and hit the woman.
She was taken to the hospital where her family tells us she is recovering from injuries to her pelvis and head.
The car's driver, Shelishia Broadeus, 29, is charged with reckless driving.
