Woman Admits to Embezzling from Church

Lexington, VA - A Lexington woman has admitted to stealing from a church for more than ten years.56 year old Marilyn Dudley pleaded guilty to 24 embezzlement counts Tuesday, according to the Roanoke Times.According to police, she was in charge of the memorial fund and women's account for Collierstown Presbyterian Church in Rockbridge County.In court a deputy testified she stole about $157,000 from the church from July of 2002 through January of this year. The church believes it was about $10,000 more than that.Dudley will be sentenced in December.
