Lynchburg, VA - Lynchburg firefighters had to work fast to save a house Wednesday due to windy conditions.
Crews were called to the home on Russell Street near Fort Avenue a little after 9 a.m.
When they arrived, the flames were spreading quickly to both floors of the home.
Fire officials say the single family home was heavily damaged. Three people live there, and the two that were home at the time got out safely.
"They will not be able to stay here, however the fire department,
our own restoration staff as well as the Red Cross will make
sure they have accommodations," said Jason Campbell, Lynchburg Fire Battalion Chief .
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
