William Campbell's Zach Sligh Signs with ODU Baseball

Naruna - William Campbell is one of the baseball teams playing in the state semifinals Saturday morning at 10 in Salem. Thursday, Generals pitcher and shortstop Zach Sligh announced he's headed to Division One Old Dominion this fall where he'll continue his baseball career. The Monarchs hope Sligh can come in and contribute right away as a pitcher. They saw him throw four innings of one-hit ball in the regionals last week. The senior says he's always dreamed of being able to play college ball.

Zach Sligh, SIGNS WITH OLD DOMINION, said "I'm really excited. I mean I haven't been any happier ever, but it's gonna be a big step. It's gonna be hard but I'm willing to put in the work. I feel like I'll probably come in as a middle relief kind of guy, close the game out or something like that and maybe get the opportunity to come in and be a starter."
