William Campbell Baseball - ABC 13 Team of the Week

Naruna - Today's high school Team of the Week is William Campbell Baseball. The Generals have saved their best baseball for the end of the year, and this is a great time to be peaking. William Campbell hammered Surry 18-3 Wednesday night in the state quarterfinals. Brent Guthrie cranked a grand slam for the Generals in a big third inning. The Generals, now 18-and-6, face Auburn Friday morning at 10 at Kiwanis Field in Salem in the state semifinals.

Colby Harrison, SR. PITCHER/OF (DOGWOOD PLAYER OF YEAR), said "Well we all just work together as a team. And when they get hits, the team makes plays, you know, it's not all me."

Brent Guthrie, SENIOR OUTFIELDER (GRAND SLAM VS. SURRY), said "We've had a whole lot of close games leading up to this point. And just to come out here and hit the ball the way we did today just feels a whole lot better than 2-1 or 1-0 like we have in the past."
Andy Haga, WILLIAM CAMPBELL HEAD COACH, said "Our pitching and defense has been good all year and it just kept it going today. So it's kinda what we've been leaning on all season."
