Well-Known Supporter of the Lynchburg Community, Jim Taylor, Passes Away

Lynchburg, VA - Many call it a true loss to the many of the charitable organizations in the Lynchburg area. Jim Taylor passed away over the weekend at the age of 81. Mr. Taylor was a founding board member of the Boys and Girls Club in Lynchburg, helping to transform an old shoe factory to the building standing on Madison Street downtown. The Club's Executive Director Mark Sheehan said Taylor had a dynamic personality that everyone could relate to. "Jim had the ability to work with a 6 year old young person here at the Boys and Girls Club here, to working with CEO's. He was very adept with all people, which is very hard to find," Sheehan said. Taylor also worked with Lynchburg's Habitat for Humanity for years as a board member and construction leader. Taylor's funeral is set for this Saturday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Lynchburg at 11 a.m.
