Weekly Buzz: Classic Rock Concert, Dance Showcase & Race in Danville

From concerts to racing, there is an array of things to do in town this weekend.

If you love classic rock, you may want to make it out to The Ellington this Friday, March 8. The Tommy C Band will be performing playing rock, blues and some originals too. Their music is influenced by the Beatles, Eddie Van Halen and Muddy Waters. That's at 6:30 p.m. and tickets are $10 at the door.{}

Also in Lynchburg, our local dance academy is showcasing its most advanced students the whole weekend. Come out to the Choreographers Spotlight at the Dance Theater of Lynchburg. That's March 8 - 10 and tickets are$ 12 for adults and$ 10 for students. Get more information on performance times here.{}

On Saturday, get your kids to dress up as their favorite princess or superhero! The Academy of Fine Arts brings you Whoop-Dee-Doo! There will be a character parade, arts and crafts and treats for everyone. That's 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., and tickets are $35 for kids.

Finally in Danville, there's the Green Legs and Hamstrings run Saturday. You can choose to do the 5K, 10K or half marathon at the Anglers Park. You can pre-register by Friday or on the day of the race. Get race info or register here.{}
