About four years ago I met an amazing girl named Betsy. Believe it or not it was at the pool in the apartment complex I was living. After we got to know each other through a mutual friend, we became close friends. At the time, she was dating someone else and so was I. Many months went by and our friendship continued to grow. In 2010 our friendship turned into true love.
Well it's now May 2012 and our wedding is just around the corner. Of course, if it was up to me we would be boarding a plane and heading out for a simple and easy destination wedding. However for Betsy (and many of you ladies,) she wants to live the wedding day she has always dreamed about. So with that said, we are having a "family and close friends" wedding here in Lynchburg!
Our new friends at Centenary United Methodist Church have been so welcoming. Pastor Rick Ecklund is great and will be marrying us. We are delighted to be able to have our wedding in such a beautiful church. The architecture inside and out is amazingly brilliant, making it a wonderful church to say our vows.
The reception will be at held at the Lynchburg Aviary. It's a famous historic building with lots of character. The size is perfect for the number of family and guests invited. We are having hors d'oeuvres, beer and wine, then dinner and cake. Betsy and I are thrilled about having our favorite food that evening Italian! In celebration we plan to dance the night away.
The morning after, Betsy and I leave for our honeymoon in the tropics at an all-inclusive resort. I'm so looking forward to that!
With the help of our wedding planner Caitlin Smith (www.something-planned.com), Betsy and I are not going too crazy - yet!
