Lynchburg - Washington & Lee broke open a scoreless tie against Shenandoah by scoring four runs in the fifth and the Generals never trailed as they beat the Hornets 7-4 on day one of the ODAC Baseball Tournament in Lynchburg.
The Generals led this game 7-0 until Shenandoah scored four runs over the final three innings to cut the final margin to three runs. Generals pitcher Ian Shaw took a shutout into the seventh until the Hornets chased him by scoring three runs.
Washington & Lee held on for the win, the Generals will face Randolph-Macon in a winner's bracket game Friday night at 6. Shenandoah will face Game 1 winner and regular season champ Bridgewater Friday afternoon at 2:30.
