Walk for Angelman Syndrome in Danville Saturday

Danville, VA - Saturday, 28 cities around our nation will walk to bring awareness to Angelman Syndrome, and Danville is on the list.

The Angelman Syndrome Foundation will be holding their annual walk at Anglers Park.

The syndrome is a neuro-genetic disorder usually misdiagnosed as Autism. About 500 people have already signed up to walk. If you'd like to take part, registration starts at 8 a.m. at the park. This walk is really special for families dealing with Angelman Syndrome.

" It means everything because first of all there's not a lot of opportunities for the Angelman families to all get together at one time because we're all spread out throughout the United States, but tomorrow we're looking at having 12 to 13 families," said Heather Daniel whose daughter has the syndrome.,

The goal is to raise more than $27,000. All the money goes to research.
